Thank You, Universe

Namaste Friends!

The weekend was very lovely!  Thank you everyone who came out to support us and thank you to everyone who sent us their support from afar.  It was a busy weekend in Denver and we were pleased with our showing.  Most importantly we have officially blessed the studio with two very special ceremonies.

The Hanuman arti was beautifully performed by pujari Santosh.   And Dr. Katyayani Poole and her husband Sri Jeff blessed the studio with a most sacred Lakshmi puja complete with a offering of  Ganga water to anoint the premises.  Now Karma Yoga Center is fully charged with the integrity of the selfless devotion of the monkey-headed diety , and with the love and abundance that devi Lakshmi brings with her.  It is our promise to always offer our services with heartfelt sincerity and with dedication to serving the spiritual aspect of the practice .  It is our aim to be the yoga that we teach and to teach it in the vein that yoga was originally purposed: to strengthen our connection to the divine.

Yes, you will get your asana (Sanskrit term for poses) kicked if you are looking for the “workout”, but you will also open to your soul’s yearning to go deeper into the unknown.  Western yoga has become hot, sweaty, and cardiovascular.  I’m not judging that, I serve it up that way, and I often practice it that way.  But  the trick lies in keeping the purpose of practicing yoga in our awareness as we flow through our classes dripping sweat everywhere.  Otherwise we should go  jump on the treadmill.

And, if you don’t want your asana kicked, you could take a Peaceful Yoga class.  This class is our signature class we developed to counterbalance our hectic lifestyle.  We feel this is what our world needs more of right now.   We think this is more like the yoga that the rishis originally envisioned 4000-ish years ago.   The class incorporates gentle body opening asanas for 30 minutes, and then we lead you into a 20 minute meditation followed by a 10 minute savasana.  You will arrive on the other side of an hour nothing less than blissed out.

We have kids yoga people!  Little people need yoga too and they should start now; why wait until we are frazzled and depleted of life force energy (prana)?  Give them the tools they need for their toolbox now.  Then they learn early on how to cope with life’s frustrations and setbacks.  Our soul seeks joy.  It has a homing device built inside us to always return to our original condition: joyful.  Children need to be encouraged to keep their innate joyful side and yoga classes are a great environment for that concept. As one of our students painted on their blessing tile “bliss is a birthright”.   We all deserve happiness.  Ananda for all.  We don’t have to be 21 to imbibe in that high.

We have yoga for everyone.  Come in and practice with us.  We are excited to serve you.
