Our Superpower Is Love…

Namaste friends,

Happy flower blossoms and budding greens! I am so loving the springtime energy right now, but I am also aware that we will most likely have a couple more wet snow days. And I love those big dumps of heavy snow in April and May too! Mama Earth happily saps it up and it doesn’t last more than a day or two.

And yes, its hard on the tree limbs and soft plants coming up…but it weeds out the weak, forces strength to the roots so next year they are hardier, and it brings on the green stuff in droves!

I try to remember this as a metaphor for when life seems to be too heavy and dumps its weight on us. The difficulties and challenges we face in life, or what I like to refer to as puddles on the path of life, ultimately can help us restructure old patterns and remove outdated modes of operandi. They make us dig deep into our fortitude and nurture our foundations, and they often make us rise up better than before.

It just all depends how we respond to these heavy life-dumps…sometimes they break us. We fall to our knees, like a big branch down. No doubt it is a shock to the system. And sometimes it is a great loss, but almost always the tree will recover in a short time, and actually become more healthy having lost the load.

That can be the same for ourselves, when life brings us to our knees, it is important to see the 30,000 foot view of things. Be like eagle and take a broader perspective of what is unfolding. When we are under the rubble, we only feel the weight and pain of defeat.

But- if we are able to orientate toward the light and crawl out from under -and that might mean crying out for help- once we get out from underneath our troubles, we are able to see options, find opportunities, and feel empowered.

When we summon the courage to bravely forge onward after a big life-dump, something is re-membered inside of ourselves. A surge of self-confidence rises up as you realize it was your own willpower that allowed you to crawl out from under life’s burdens. Your inner spark took fire and you are reminded of who you are: a magical spirit whose Source is Infinite and Omniscient and Omnipresent.

If only we could learn to Trust this inner fire more!

I feel now, more than ever in our existence as human beings, we need to

re-member who we truly are, what we are made of, and why we are here. It is imperative for our collective well-being and for the continued existence of our species. We don’t want to share the same fate as the Atlanteans or the Lemurians. Their epic collapses, independently of each other, were due to their inability to use their power in right way. You would think we would try harder to avoid a similar demise. Both of these civilizations sunk. Literally-and figuratively. And looking at the conditions of things right now on Mother Earth, we could easily do that again.

Or-we can alter our course of direction by using our power in supportive way. Our superpower if you will is Love.

Not conditional love, like “I love them and them, but not them”.

That kind of love keeps us divided.

Our superpower is a Divine Love-the deepest of loves-the unconditional love our spiritual heart, our inner Light, called the Hridyam heart.

This is what we need to re-member: We already know The Way. The way is Love.

the one thing in all creation that connects everything together is Divine Love.

I realize wars are started over these very questions. There isn’t a one size fits all answer for everyone’s spiritual beliefs. Everyone has a divine right to their own viewpoint. And although I have my own perspective of how I define these inquiries of the soul, I am not hell bent on convincing or converting anyone to follow my path. I have a healthy appreciation for the variety of beliefs held around God and our purpose.

But I am hell bent on sounding the alarm that we humans need to change our ways, and be more loving and kind to each other. I do believe it is important to see how interconnected we are- not only through the tangible natural world of elements and matter, but also through the same spark of power that enables to breath, think, talk, create and push me out from under the rubble-which is the same spark of power that enables the tulip to perennially push up through the ground every spring. It is the divine spark or spiritual Source that moves through everything in creation. We must re-member this important piece of the puzzle.

Spring time is a strong time. April and May demonstrate what it is to be determined, powerful, and using our inner force or Source to propel us upward.

Aries is the Ram and Taurus is the Bull. That’s April and May-and right in between is Passover, Easter, Earth Day, Beltane and Mother’s Day-All celebrations that encourage us to tap deep into our hearts and remember our Spiritual Love and shine it out into the world so we can be a beacon of Love and Hope for each other.

Listen for the calls for help from someone trapped in the rubble. Maybe someone could use a hand up. One of the biggest shifts we could make as a collective is going from being selfish to being of service. I love this quote from Mahatma Gandhi,

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Win. Win.

And, ask for help when you need a hand. Lets undo the limiting beliefs we carry that asking for support is a sign of weakness. Its not a sign of weakness to ask for help; its a sign of courage, strength and determination.

Generosity, service, and compassion are areas that could use some improvement in our fabric of humanity. We think we are doing well at these things, but we can definitely level up our playing field.

If springtime has the animal power of ram and bull, it seems we should harness our own animal power and push up through the difficulties, then dawn our eagle wings so as to fly above the duality plane and see the big picture of our collective existence. We are here to be in union and harmony with each other. Help each other grow, thrive and be of service to each other. Here is another quote I like from an Indian wisdom keeper,

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy.

I awoke and saw that life was service.

I acted and behold, service was joy.” – Rabindranath Tagore

Again, Win. Win.

Mother nature is such a beautiful resource to study and garner a better understanding of why 8 billion of us are here living out our lives together. When I look to her mountains, and rivers, and her flora and fauna, I don’t see the competitive, selfish, greedy, judgmental disregard we humans continuously project into the world. I see collaboration, sharing, patience, dedication, harmony and a peaceful co-existence. As Desmond Tutu said,

“Do your little bit of good where you are;

it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

So basically it seems that the difference between humans and the rest of creation is that we have an ego and the rest doesn’t. The rest of creation is living together harmoniously and we are not, so deductive reasoning leads me to believe that if we can reel in our ego, and instead operate from our inner well-spring of Source- the same Source that the rest of creation (tree, flower, eagle, etc…) operates from, we might be able to live out the blessings of the Mayan prayer we sing, “Long Life, Honey in the Heart, No Evil, Thirteen (infinite) Thank You’s”.

Michael and I are leaving upon this full moon- setting out for Kerala, India-which they affectionately call “God’s Own Country”. We will be there for two weeks and have a full itinerary planned. We felt a strong call to go to her tea hills, her oceans, and her back waters to steep in her spiritual energy or what is called the bhavana, or the bhav for short. For Michael and I, India is the Motherland of our hridyam hearts. As we rejuvenate our spiritual well-springs, we can better help others do the same. We look forward to sharing our experience with our classes and teachings.

And re-member, you are already plugged into Source. Even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes. You don’t have to travel outside of yourself to access your Great Spirit. You can always tap into, and trust your own spiritual heart for guidance. There will always be puddles in our paths, and sometimes very challenging ones at that. But your power to overcome the difficulties is more powerful than the problems themselves. Keep strong in your Spirit. It is the Light of the Way.

Happy Spring Holidays! I especially love Beltane, or May Day. I love the idea of dancing around the maypole to celebrate the fecundity of life. May all your May Day baskets be abundant with Love at this time. Jai Ma!

Much Love,

Katrina
