Kara Traikoff

Kara took her first Hatha Yoga class at age 16 with her mom.  From that moment on she was fascinated with the practice and was searching for her niche within it.  A few years later, a good friend suggested that she try an Ashtanga Yoga class, and at the time this was a perfect fit.  She continued practicing Ashtanga regularly for years and her dedicated practice became her foundation throughout the two years she lived in Guatemala working as a Peace Corps Volunteer.  She developed a daily personal practice, and then began to share this practice by teaching and practicing with friends in the community.  Upon returning to the U.S., she moved to Denver, trained with Tina Porter and Karen Lerner in 2009, and has been teaching yoga ever since.  She has over 15 years of experience practicing various styles of yoga, and her classes now mesh her backgrounds to form a mixed levels vinyasa flow focusing on the role of breath work as our guide in a moving meditation.  She continues to practice, study, learn, and travel on a regular basis, and weaves each of these components into the classes that she teaches.  She strives to create both a challenging and nourishing environment, where her students can explore the benefits of their unique yoga practices both on and off the mat!
