“Sometimes The Poison Is Actually The Medicine”
There is a well-established principle in both modern and ancient healing practices that sometimes a poison can serve as medicine. Anti-venom for snake bites is produced from the actual venom. The flu shot is derived from the flu virus. In biology, this concept is called hormesis, where a low-level stress, toxin, restriction, or poison actually promotes greater health, resilience, and growth. Paracelsus, the renowned Swiss physician, alchemist, and philosopher of the German Renaissance, stated that “all things are poison, and nothing is without poison; only the dose permits something not to be poisonous.” This serves as the fundamental principle of homeopathy—like cures like. A substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used in diluted form to treat similar symptoms in someone who is sick.
This all seemed pertinent to this month’s astrology cycle, where there are a number of retrogrades, directs, and Taurus/Scorpio energy, which have to do with transformation, survival, health, growth, and sometimes poison. From the Soul realm, whether something is poison or medicine depends on perception of the mind and time. Time can change everything, including our perceptions. What was once the worst thing might actually become the best force for evolution and growth over time.
This cycle begins with the Taurus Full Moon on November 5. It is also the Beaver Moon and a Super Full Moon. This will illuminate themes of survival, thriving, standing your ground, resources, the body, real estate, and your values. There could be challenges to test whether you will stand firm in your value system when challenged. It is also an opportunity for growth and healing of old karmic wounds and samskaras- repeated patterns of behavior and thought that do not serve. Taurus is also an expression of joy! Trusts, stand firm like the bull, and know that the light of the full moon is medicine for your Soul.
Venus enters Scorpio on Nov 6, and Uranus retrogrades back into Taurus on Nov 7, remaining until April 26, 2026. Taurus and Scorpio are Yin and Yang, representing the astrological axis of survival. Venus is calling for vulnerability or deep honesty. And Uranus in Taurus acts like a lightning strike or volcanic eruption—the sky and earth will move. This is especially significant because it is the last time Uranus will be in Taurus for nearly 80 years, marking the end of a cycle that began in the 1930s and ’40s. Is this good or bad? Poison or medicine. Yes. There may be radical changes, but anything that doesn’t support our greater evolution is likely to be transformed. This process makes space for resilience, growth, healing, and ultimately, inner joy.
Mercury goes retrograde from Sagittarius to Scorpio from Nov 9-29. Sagittarius is wisdom, truth, trust, faith, and embarking on a new journey or quest. Scorpio symbolizes transformation and is represented by the scorpion, the snake, and the eagle or phoenix. What was once poison and a seeming death is alchemized into renewal, rebirth, and evolution — but first, look at the underworld to see what we must learn and know a truth.
Nov 19 is the Scorpio New Moon. Bringing in more themes of transformation, resurrection, and challenge, becoming a potential triumph, realization, and new cycle of growth. “Sometimes The Poison Is Actually The Medicine.” Do ceremony, reflect, and go inward to your hridyam heart and intuition this day.
The astrological month of Sagittarius runs from Nov 21 to Dec 21 and marks the final month of fall as the Sun moves into the sign of the Guru, the teacher, and the truths of the heart. Seek inner wisdom, clarity, connect to nature, and hold a vision in your heart of where you are questing and journeying toward in your Soul and life. Hold the vision firm.
Finally, Saturn goes direct on Nov 27, followed by Mercury on Nov 29. These are big tidal shifts in energy that may bring great clarity about how a trial, toxin, or challenge was actually the alchemical fire that initiated growth, healing, and the expansion of consciousness.

“Get Clear, Cut The Crap, and Move Forward”
Now begins eclipse season and the reason for our mantra. The word eclipse means to “cut” or “clip.” They occur when the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth align at the mystical points in the sky called the Moon’s Nodes. For the journey of the Soul and the Collective Consciousness, these are points of evolution, transformation, and cutting away what is not serving the greater harmony, meaning the cosmic flow of Karma & Dharma.
These portals of transformation will occur whether we are conscious of them or not, so it is best to get clear and tune into what is being called to the cutting block. Is this bad or good? Neither— it depends on our own free will choices and understanding of our karma and dharma. If we are aligned, this could be like the farmer in an abundant wheat field harvesting with a grateful heart because the time is right. Or it can be the revelation of a karmic pattern that we previously were unable to see or unwilling to acknowledge, brought to the forefront so that we can cut it out and transform it, allowing us to move forward with more harmony and grace.
