300Hr Yoga Teacher Training

The Elements of Life: Living from the Soul

Join us from Soulstice to Soulstice for a journey that will take you deeper into your purpose and potential both as a teacher and as a soul-being.

This 300 hour YTT is designed with a unique concept which allows one to dive deeper into the physical and philosophical aspects of teaching yoga, but also teaches us how to incorporate living yoga- both individually and collectively.

The main tenets of this course rely on the 5 elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. It will be through the lens of each of these these essential life ingredients that we will explore our human purpose and potential. It is the hope that by returning our focus to these fundamental elements of existence we will be able to find harmony and balance in our lives.

Katrina Gustafson

Katrina Gustafson

The mermaid of the mountains, Katrina Gustafson seeks the heights of the peaks and the depths of the oceans in her practice. Through the wisdom of the heart, her purpose is to help guide others to open their own. She has studied in the temples of India, the pyramids of Mexico, and in the crucible of modern life. She finds the sacred in the rhythm of the seasons, the stars, and every second of life.

As the owner and founder of Karma Yoga Center in Denver, she brings the Bhakti from all wisdom traditions to her yoga classes- singing, chanting, dancing, and journeys into the heart. Katrina fills every yoga session with love. She weaves in the teachings of her yoga mentor Saul David Raye and the cosmic knowings from the lineage of Evolutionary Astrology.  She shares her life journey with her half-side husband Michael Shankara and her two boys Max & Bo

Lisa Theis: Karma Yoga Center, Yoga Teacher Training

Lisa Theis

Lisa’s journey with the practice of yoga began 18 years ago in a Bikram studio in San Francisco. What began as a physical and mental challenge to just stay in the room for the duration of class quickly became a deep and healing connection for her body, mind, and spirit, and eventually became a life’s passion and calling.
Though she has had many influential teachers, she is a dedicated student of Yogarupa Rod Stryker and follows the lineage of Para Yoga and Sri Vidya. Her classes strive to provide a space for each person to explore the effect of yoga in their own way and, while rooted in the methodologies of Para Yoga, are an amalgamation of all her teachers’ influences. Each class will include pranayama (breathwork), the exploration and experience of the energetics of asana (postures), mantra, visualization and intentional focus, and meditation.

Asiana Harper~ Karma Yoga Center 300Hr Ytt

Asiana Harper

I am truly honored to be on the planet at this time, journeying in this body, mind, and spirit template – offering support to others in clarifying more ease, harmony, and balance in their lives.

I have always been intrigued by the elements and how they interact in body, on earth. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado with wilderness as my backyard, I recall climbing trees, sitting in caves, adventuring with the animals in the forest. All of this engaged my curiosity and encouraged quietude as well as agility in mind and body. These experiences brought me into the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda, which facilitate a deepening into the present moment.

I received certifications as a Core Synchronism Therapist, Ayurvedic Consultant, Massage Therapist, and Yoga Instructor after studying at the Ayurvedic Institute and the School of Natural Therapeutics, in Albuquerque, NM. Additional training in India and South East Asia deepened explorations in the technology of meditation. I am also certified in Neurosculpting®, a whole-brain approach priming the pathways to the prefrontal cortex through neuroplasticity to re-write old stories which block us from activating our highest potential.

Lets realize and create the life we want to live!

Beth-Sanchez - Karma Yoga Center Yoga Teacher Training

Beth Sanchez

Foremost in her aspiration is to serve students in a way that supports their birthright to enjoy purpose, insight, well-being, and the cultivation of inherent goodness. Gurupriya Beth’s classes are deeply inspired by her core teachers, Engaged Buddhism Founder, Venerable Thich Nhat Hahn, and Ayurveda Master Teacher and Practitioner, Alakananda Ma. She is also invigorated by the Adviata teachings of Adyashanti, and Rupert Spira, and the vision of philosopher/sacred activist, Charles Eisenstein. Tias Little, Richard Freeman, and countless others continue to inspire her understanding of yoga asana, dharma, and related practices. Gurupriya Beth has been teaching yoga since 2000, and her style has been described as mindful hatha/vinyasa with anatomical depth, nourishing adjustments, contemplative support and invitations to sing, sigh, and giggle.   She invites all people seeking sangha, contemplative depth in their yoga practice, and sacredness in their relationship to life.

Anne Hart~ Karma Yoga Center 200 Hr YTT

Anne Hart
Anne is an experienced yoga teacher (ERYT500) and a seasoned yoga therapist (C-IAYT) who has logged over 1500 hours working with students individually since 2001. She has well over 3000 hours of teaching yoga classes for all levels of students and to special populations including cancer patients. Anne (aka ANNE-atomy) teaches anatomy in several YTT programs in Denver where she is known for her ability to inspire teacher training students by using images that correlate the human body to animals, art and architecture. Her creative comparisons between anatomy and structures in everyday life are memorable and fun which is then followed by an asana practice focusing on those same structures
experientially. She has made 25+ field trips to cadaver labs both with students and to assist in instruction; she assisted Thomas Myers (“Anatomy Trains”) & Todd Garcia in a 5-day Fascial Dissection Course. Anne was honored to help edit “Yoga of the Subtle Body” by Tias Little and “Yoga + Cancer” by Lorien Neargarder. Anne’s intention is to ignite a passion in her students for the beauty and complexity of the body; she does so skillfully and with a continued sense of curiosity.

Ann Bortz~ Karma Yoga Center 300Hr YoGA Teacher Training YTT

Ann Bortz

She has been developing and implementing a manualized yoga based intervention for recently returned veterans presenting with psychological distress at the Veteran’s Administration. Ann serves as guest faculty for yoga teacher training programs from Denver to Boulder, teaching a module on the Psychology of Yoga.

Santosh Powell: Karma Yoga Center Yoga Teacher Training: YTT

Santosh Powell

Explore and expand the boundaries of your body, breath and consciousness.

Across space and time in a star system not far from our own, a young man burst forth into illumination; born from the dance of Hopi Kachinas and Shiva’s Crescent Moon, he emerged into Truth’s light as Yogi Santosh.

A powerful transcendent awakening nearly two decades ago created the momentum for Santosh to relinquish a normal life existence and explore the illuminated teachings of conscious evolution. Yoga and its spiritual vastness was the perfect arena for this encounter to unfold. Now, 20 years of yoga practice and deep devotion have culminated in cosmic awareness and subtle energetic understanding that is unique to our time. Santosh wishes to share this wisdom and support others’ self-transformation, individual mindfulness, and karmic alignment. We see the essence of yoga as an awareness practice, and elevates one to realize the deep inner connection of mind, heart, and subtle perception. This promotes a life of purpose, the refined development of human consciousness and the hope for humanities unification. Brimming with unconditional compassion, softness, and an intuitive knowledge of ancient wisdom practices, Santosh’s classes allow you to experience the peace, harmony, and stillness that lay at the core of your being. We merge the elegant capabilities of our earth bodies with inner cosmic energies to advance conscious perception. Each student is then held in this sacred embrace to explore their own special relationship to yoga. Healing, self-care, and subtle transformation define the beauty of this energetic practice.

Discover the intention to live and breathe through the portal of the heart.
